tip. 과거를 돌아보는 것에서 끝나는 게 아니라 과거의 일을 현재의 관점에서 보면서 평가를 남길 때 사용합니다. 예를 들어 과거의 한 사건을 필두로 아 이때 이 결정은 잘한 결정이었어. 또는 아니야, 그때 그렇게 하는 게 아니었어. 이런 식으로 말이죠.

*주로 연애 상황에서 사용되는 것 같지만 그 외 직업, 학교 등등에서도 사용되는 표현으로 상대방의 스펙과 배경, 외모 등을 자신과 비교했을 때 더 높은 위치에 있는 상황에 있기에 접근하기 어렵거나 어울리기 힘들다 여길 때 사용되는 표현입니다. 따라서, 해석은 맥락에 따라 자연스럽게 해 주시면 될 것 같습니다.
She is way out of my league. Next to her, I look so insignificant.
